Clued is a two-player word game run by OurHub in British Columbia, Canada. This page explains what Clued keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: admin@ourhub.ca.
What we keep
Your first name, which your friends see in games.
Your email address, once sign-in is switched on, to send your sign-in codes. It is never shown to other players.
Your picture choice: a critter or emoji. (Photo uploads are turned off; a few early players still have one until they pick a critter.)
Your games: boards, moves, clues, chat messages and reactions with the people you play, plus game stats and the cities you've beaten.
Your settings: theme, tile colours and sound.
Alerts: if you turn on phone alerts, a technical address from your phone's alert service so we can tell you when it's your move.
Basic technical logs kept by our hosting provider (for example, the time of a request), used only to keep Clued running.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare hosts Clued and stores the data above.
Clu, the AI teammate, runs on Cloudflare's AI service. When you play with Clu, your board, clues and chat with Clu are sent to that AI model to make its moves and replies. It isn't used to train models for anyone else.
Apple, Google or Mozilla deliver phone and browser alerts if you turn them on. Some older games send alerts through ntfy.sh.
Resend will send sign-in code emails once sign-in is on.
Google Fonts supplies the lettering, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
If Pro becomes paid, a payment company (such as Stripe, or Apple and Google in their app stores) will handle payments. We will never see your full card number.
We don't sell your information, show ads, or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Games stay until a player in that game removes it. Nightly backups are kept for 14 days. Once accounts are on, deleting your account removes your account, email, picture, settings and the games and chat you're part of, and backups age out within 14 days after that.
Your choices
Remove any game you're in, from All games → Edit, or from the game menu.
Turn alerts off at any time.
Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at admin@ourhub.ca. Account deletion and blocking players will also be in Settings once accounts are on.
Children
Clued isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep information about them. If you think a child under 13 is using Clued, tell us and we'll remove their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell players in the game for any important change.
Terms of use
Last updated October 24, 2026. Draft, pending legal review.
By playing Clued you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.
Playing fair
Be kind in chat. No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content involving minors, or anything illegal.
Don't try to break, overload or get around Clued's limits, or read other players' keys or data.
Use your own first name or a friendly nickname, not someone else's.
We may remove content or close access for anyone who breaks these rules.
Clu and AI
Clu's clues, guesses and chat are made by an AI model. They can be wrong, odd or occasionally unsuitable. Tell us if something Clu says is inappropriate.
Pro
Some features are marked Pro. If Pro becomes a paid plan, its price, what it includes, renewal and cancellation will be shown before you buy, and any purchase through the App Store or Google Play also follows their rules.
Our part
Clued is provided as is. We work to keep it running and your games safe, with nightly backups, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we're not liable for losses from using it, to the extent the law allows. We may change or stop features.
Who owns what
Clued's name, design, art, critters, word lists and code belong to OurHub. Your chat messages are yours; you let us store and show them to the other player in that game so the game works.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
